Ebay is gonna ban the sale of any digital products. This includes ebooks, digital videos, websites, domain names, photo services, graphic design services, mp3s and any other services that can be delivered electronically or downloaded.

As we all know, these products are being sold in the thousands everday and this move will affect the livelihood of many sellers.

Possibly they're doing it to eliminate the growing sales of pirated products (since digital products are easy to reproduce) in ebay. Also, it will reduce a significant amount of fraudulent transactions.

Many will be asking, why not establish a separate site or section for digital products, much like a clickbank version of ebay?

Affiliate marketing, Online Ads, marketing works on the internet platform that is heavily reliant on search engines, and of course on Google. Since the internet is always evolving, successful affiliate marketers don't just rely on one method. The successful ones are always adapting, optimizing their efforts in line with the shifting changes. They keep up with the latest news and are quick to adapt and change when necessary.

Like the recent google slap that has many marketers losing large percentage of overall clicks in their PPC ads but have to endure higher rates. What happened? Why the sudden drop of click through rates? Something that works before has stop working. What do you do then? Wail, complain, throw rocks at Google? If Google is favouring sites that have constant updates of fresh relevant content, what will you do next to change your affiliate site?

Many have come to expect changes and come to accept that they either adapt and prosper or see your profits slip away. Read the news, participate in forums, get email alerts. Have a healthy news system that will help keep your affiliate marketing efforts relevant and optimized.

What would you rather do? Watch video for information or read text?

Obviously there are many benefits to reading text such as:-

The ability to scan the entire info to focus only on the relevant parts.
Fast (unless you're a very slow reader). So it saves time and you don't have to wait for the video to load
And when supplemented with a few images, it provides alot of info.

Videos however can be visually stimulating as well as to provide knowledge regarding products in ways that would not have to rely on our 'imagination'. I can see how a car moves on the road, how a handphone glistens in certain light conditions, how light or comparatively small a portable notebook is and so forth and that's not counting the knowledge you get from audio.

Lets say between an information web page and a video that loads within 5 seconds. Both describes the same product. What tips the scale and what personal requirements you would have for the video to earn your attention over the content on the web page?

Say this video of Delta Airline's inflight safety presentation, would you want to watch this or read it on a brochure (say you have no choice but to read the whole brochure)?

You'll see that it's not that intrusive in that in a search listing, you'll need to click on a 'Watch Demonstration' link and then proceed to click 'Watch Demonstration' and finally, clicking on the button link at the end of the video ad.

Seems that it's pay per view.

Obvious benefits to advertisers is the brand exposure and of course the referral traffic. Still because it starts out as a text link, it isn't that eye-catching. Plus since it only appears in listing after a user does a search, it acts more like a tool for user to view additional 'video' info. Sort of like a preview of what the page has to offer. Or does the link go somewhere else? I'm wondering if it's a waste of time viewing the ads when I can bypass it and click on the link to the page and view direct and more info regarding the subject.

Anyway, this method should be fine with users I think.
